Krav Maga This week and facing down a threat
Last week we gave the new mats a burn and did some ground defences. Well done to the guys for some great work.
The importance of being able to defend yourself was made very clear this week. On the same night as people were "glassed" in Perth city, one of our students was confronted by people threatening to stab him and his friend. He handled the situation well -- beginning with adopting the "de-escalating" fight stance and maintaining situational awareness. The would-be attackers left, hurling verbal abuse, but he and his friend were unharmed. You can only imagine what would have happened if the assault became physical -- but I have no doubt that training, preparation, and clear thinking kept him safe.
For Krav Maga this week, we'll be training as usual in the Health
Sciences Building
http://www.kravmagafremantle.com/p/krav-maga-notre-dame.html at the
usual time (Tuesday 27 and Thursday 29 August 6-7pm)
I look forward, as always, to training with you and to helping you be prepared to walk in safety!
Be safe!
